Van Balen’s Aloe is a striking, low-growing succulent known for its dramatic, recurved foliage and changing colors. Its long, copper-to-green leaves feature soft, prominent teeth along the margins and unique tips that gracefully curve backward toward the base. Reaching a rosette diameter of over 3 feet (1 meter), this resilient species shifts from bright emerald to a deep, sun-kissed orange or red depending on light exposure. It is highly adaptable, thriving in both full sun and partial shade, and is cold-hardy down to approximately 25°F (-4°C).
