The Jade Plant is a quintessential, slow-growing succulent and a worldwide symbol of good fortune. Known for its thick, woody stems and glossy, oval-shaped leaves, it develops a miniature tree-like habit that makes it a favorite for both garden borders and indoor bonsai. Its fleshy, jade-green foliage often develops a striking reddish margin when exposed to high light or cooler temperatures. This remarkably hardy species is the ultimate "beginner’s plant," thriving on neglect as long as it has excellent drainage and at least 4 to 6 hours of sunlight. To ensure its longevity, the "soak and dry" method is essential—watering only when the substrate is entirely parched to prevent root rot.
